REPORT ON PARENT- TEACHER MEET ORGANIZED DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST, 2024
As per the College Academic Calendar for the 2024 Academic Session (Odd Semester), various departments of the college organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting during the second week of August 2024. The PTM was conducted by the following departments:
1. Department of Mizo
2. Department of Geography
3. Department of Psychology
4. Department of Education
5. Department of English
6. Department of Commerce
7. Department of Economics
8. Department of Political Science
9. Department of Public Administration
10. Department of History
The Parent-Teacher Meeting held during the second week of August 2024 served as a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss students' progress, address any concerns, and collaborate on strategies to improve the educational experience. The meeting saw strong attendance and active engagement from both parents and teachers.
The PTM covered key topics including students’ achievements, areas for improvement, behavioural and social development, strategies for growth, parent-teacher communication, effective home support, and upcoming college events and announcements.
The speech also covered the NEP curriculum, grading system, student performance, attendance, and mentoring activities. It aimed to boost parent awareness and engagement. The PTM fostered strong parent-teacher relationships, with a great turnout and improved understanding, promoting future collaboration for students' holistic development.
The open discussion and Q&A at the PTM allowed parents to raise questions and concerns. Teachers and parents discussed personalized strategies for learning needs. They reviewed students' behaviour and social development, suggesting more extracurricular and peer mentoring. Open communication was emphasized, with a focus on using digital platforms and reinforcing learning at home.
Parents were encouraged to visit the college website and apps like HBC Hererus and Moodle for event updates and to monitor their children's attendance. At the Open Discussion, Parents raised concerns about workload and extracurricular balance, suggesting flexible scheduling and extra support. Constructive feedback was noted, and action items were assigned.
The PTM was productive, fostering collaboration between parents and teachers. It highlighted achievements and areas for improvement, with a focus on follow-up actions and ongoing communication to enhance students' educational experiences.
