The Secretary of the Ministry of Department of North East Region (DoNER) visit Shri Lok Ranjan IAS, has 3 days visits on the State of Mizoram, as part of this official visit, he paid a visit to Government Hrangbana College, the biggest Government College on the 4th of May 2023 and had an interactive session with the students.
The programme started off with the Principal, Dr. H.Lalzidinga delivering a welcome speech.
Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of the Planning & Programme Implementation Department, Government of Mizoram gave a brief introduction on the prospects of SDG Localisation & Sambhav, Mizoram.
Pi Zopuii Khiangte, Consultant of the SDG Coordination Centre then went on to give a presentation on SDG Localisation & Sambhav, Mizoram.
SDG Local Immersion programmes have already been undertaken by various colleges of Mizoram and two of the winning teams of the competition of SDG Local Immersion Programme for Higher Educational Institutes conducted by Department of Planning & Programme Implementation, namely Mizoram Christian College and Govt. Hrangbana College gives their presentation on their proposed projects.
The team of Mizoram Christian College gave a presentation on the ‘Reconstruction of Educational Ecosystem at Aibawk’ while the team of Govt. Hrangbana College explained about their project on ‘Hydroponic fodder at Muthi Village’
An interactive session was then conducted, where the students asked the Chief Guest about the challenges he had faced while being in service as an IAS officer, key factors on how students can improve the region of the Northeast and the Ministry’s plan for the Development of North East India.
Shri Lok Ranjan noted that during his official visit to the State, this interaction is the most warmly and most effective of them all.
Pi Esther Lalruatkimi IRS, the Principal Secretary of Higher & Technical Education went on to address the August gathering and highlighted few drawbacks which Mizoram faced in terms of development.
Lastly, Pi Sangchin Chinzah IAS Director of Higher & Technical Education Department delivered a vote of thanks.
