Introduction

The NSS NE Festival, a vibrant gathering of youth from across the northeastern states of India, took place at Testso College, Chumoukedima, Dimapur during 22nd July to 26th July, in the state of Nagaland. This festival brought together 31 enthusiastic volunteers from five colleges of Mizoram, guided by two esteemed Programme Officers from Government Hrangbana College, Mr. C. Laldampuia and Dr. Ramengmawii.

Event Overview

The festival featured a diverse array of activities, including technical sessions that focused on social service, leadership, and community engagement. Cultural programmes highlighted the rich traditions of the northeastern states, with traditional dances, music, and performances adding vibrancy to the event. Additionally, physical training exercises and team-building activities fostered camaraderie among the volunteers, contributing to an overall spirit of unity and cooperation.

Cultural Rally

The festival concluded with a grand Cultural Rally, a highlight of the event. Volunteers from all eight northeastern states, along with their Programme Officers, participated in this vibrant parade, adorned in their traditional cultural attire. The rally was a testament to the unity and diversity of the northeastern region, celebrating its rich cultural tapestry.

 

The Mizoram contingent, comprising 31 dedicated volunteers and two PO’s, received special recognition for their outstanding participation and contributions. Their exemplary performance and enthusiastic engagement were highly praised by the Nagaland State NSS Officer (SNO) efforts not only showcased the spirit of Mizoram but also set a benchmark for excellence.

The NSS NE Festival was an immensely beneficial experience for all participants, fostering a sense of unity, cultural appreciation, and personal growth. The exceptional contributions of the Mizoram volunteers were a highlight of the festival, and their commendable performance underscored the significance of collaborative efforts in such events. The festival successfully achieved its goal of promoting cross-cultural understanding and youth development, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved.
