In line with its longstanding tradition of community service, social responsibility, and humanitarian aid, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Govt. Hrangbana College successfully organized a series of multi-phase blood donation drives between September 15 and October 14, 2026. Demonstrating remarkable civic duty and solidarity, students across various academic departments and semesters mobilized to contribute a total of 319 units of life-saving blood across five dedicated sessions. The drives witnessed impressive participation from both male (239 donors) and female (80 donors) students, substantially replenishing regional blood bank reserves and local health facilities including Civil Hospital.
Chronological Event
The autumn donation series commenced on September 15, 2026, with an extraordinary response from the 3rd Semester B.A. students, who set a powerful benchmark by donating 92 units (75 male, 17 female)—the highest single-day total of the entire campaign. This momentum was sustained on September 17, 2026, when the newly admitted 1st Semester B.A. students demonstrated inspiring leadership by contributing 90 units (79 male, 11 female). Towards the end of the month, on September 28, 2026, the Commerce department organized a unified drive where students across all commerce classes collectively donated 48 units (37 male, 11 female).
The campaign continued into October with equal fervor. On October 12, 2026, the senior 5th Semester students stepped forward to donate 47 units (28 male, 19 female). The month-long initiative concluded on October 14, 2026, with a specialized external drive conducted directly at Civil Hospital, yielding 42 units. Notably, this final drive achieved the highest female participation rate of the campaign, with 22 female donors outperforming 20 male donors. The NSS Unit extends its profound gratitude to all student donors, faculty coordinators, and medical personnel for making this life-saving initiative an overwhelming success.
