Orientation Programme for First Semester Students

Venue: Department Core Rooms, GHBC
An Orientation Programme for first semester students was conducted by the Departments of the College on 10th July 2026 at the Department Core Rooms. The programme aimed to familiarize students with College rules and regulations, NEP 2020, academic requirements, and opportunities for their holistic development.
Students were introduced to the college motto, vision, and mission. Important topics such as anti-ragging measures, cyber bullying & cyber safety was also covered. Sessions on the internal assessment system, attendance requirements, semester-wise course structure, credit distribution, the ERP/HEREUS portal, and the selection of Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC) were also conducted. The programme also introduced students to the College's clubs and co-curricular activities and encouraged them to participate actively
The programme concluded with a Mentoring Programme with students meeting their respective mentors for guidance and interaction, followed by a group photograph of the faculty members and first semester students to mark the beginning of their academic journey at the College.

The majority of the absentees were from Southern Mizoram and were unable to attend the programme due to heavy rainfall and landslides that blocked the highway during the current rainy season.
