Today, November 7, 2024, at 11 a.m., One Day International Seminar on 'Thematic Analysis of KC Lalvunga's Fictions & Distribution of KC Lalvunga Merit Scholarship organized by the Mizo Department of Govt. Hrangbana College was held at the I&PR Auditorium in Aizawl.


 

The KC Lalvunga Merit Scholarship was awarded to :

  1. R. Lalhmingmawia (5th and 6th Semester) - Rs. 50,000

2. Lalthanzuala (3rd and 4th Semester) - Rs. 15,000

3. Lalremsiami (3rd and 4th Semester) - Rs. 15,000


4. Malsawmzuali (1st and 2nd Semester) - Rs. 20,000.


The guest of honor, Pu R. Lallianzuala, Chairman of the Mizo Language Development Board, spoke about KC Lalvunga’s life and his profound impact on the Mizo community, especially in literature, education, and politics. Pu Zuala also commended and praised the ongoing initiatives by Lalvunga’s descendants for their support through substantial financial contributions and efforts to promote Mizo literature. He encouraged the recipients of the KC Lalvunga Merit Scholarship to continue their journey toward success, honoring the legacy of KC Lalvunga through their dedication and achievements.

 

Pi H. Lalthanpuii, an Associate Professor, hosted the event. KC Lalvunga’s daughter, Pi Lalthanzami, and the college’s Principal, Pu Lalthlengliana Hrahsel, also delivered insightful speeches that enriched the event.

In the afternoon session, paper presentations on KC Lalvunga’s works, written by Dr. Zoramdinthara (Associate Professor, MZU) and KC Lalthansanga (Assistant Professor, Mizoram Christian College), were studied. Awards were also presented for outstanding Book Reviews on KC Lalvunga's Fiction:




  1. H. Lalawmpuia, First Prize - Rs. 30,000
  2. F. Lalzuithanga, Second Prize - Rs. 20,000
  3. Vanlalpeka, Third Prize - Rs. 10,000

Consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000 each were awarded to Remruatkima, Reuben Lalenkawla,                     C. Lalruatzauva, Joel Lalruatfela, and Lalremthanga.
